Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about setting up rooms, role dynamics, device compatibility, and gameplay rules in LieBound.

How many players can participate in a single game room?

LieBound is optimized for 7 to 15 players. When setting up a room, the host can specify player capacity. If you have fewer friends present locally, the host can seamlessly fill the remaining seats with intelligent automated bots to reach a balanced table.

Is account registration, email, or a phone app required?

No! LieBound is 100% account-free and runs directly in your web browser. You only supply a temporary in-game alias when joining a room. No emails, passwords, or personal profiles are collected or stored.

Can I play across different tabs or mobile devices with friends?

Yes. LieBound works seamlessly across devices, operating systems, and browsers. Simply share the 4-character room PIN or room link with friends on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, or PC to join the match instantly.

What happens when a player is eliminated or dies during the night?

When a player is eliminated, their true secret identity is officially revealed to the Town. Deceased players enter Spectator Mode—they can observe ongoing discussions and night events but cannot vote or speak in daylight deliberations to prevent ghost-whispering.

How does the Doctor's protection work if someone is attacked?

Each night, the Doctor chooses one player to safeguard. If the Killer selects that exact player as their target, the strike is nullified. Come morning, the report announces that someone was saved without revealing the target or the Doctor.

What is the Survivor role and how does it win?

The Survivor is an independent role with no faction allegiance. The Survivor takes no night actions and wins independently alongside whichever team achieves victory, as long as they are still alive when the game ends. If eliminated before the end, the Survivor loses.

How are the game sound effects generated?

All sound effects (gavel strikes, night stingers, heartbeats, morning bells) are synthesized on the fly via the HTML5 Web Audio API. No external audio files are downloaded, which keeps load times instant and mobile data usage minimal.
