About LieBound
A tribute to classic social deduction parlor games, engineered from the ground up for instantaneous web browser play with zero setup hurdles.
Origins & Philosophy
LieBound was conceived around a timeless psychological dynamic: when oaths of alliance are sworn in shadows, trust itself becomes the ultimate vulnerability. Parlor games like Mafia and Werewolf have thrilled players for decades by turning words, micro-expressions, and deductive logic into the ultimate game mechanics.
However, traditional party games often face high friction: someone has to act as the non-playing moderator, apps demand lengthy downloads and registration forms, and organizing a spontaneous match becomes a technical headache. LieBound eliminates every barrier. With an automated digital facilitator running the night phases and room ballots, every single person at the table gets to play.
Zero-Friction Architecture
LieBound is engineered with a strict principle: remove every obstacle between wanting to play with your friends and actually playing. The entire application runs natively in standard web browsers on iPhones, iPads, Android devices, Mac, Windows, and Linux computers.
- • No User Accounts: You choose a temporary handle for the match; no emails, passwords, or personal profiles are collected.
- • Instant Room PINs: Rooms are joined with a 4-letter alphanumeric code or direct invite link.
- • Procedural Audio: Every chime, bell, and heartbeat stinger is synthesized dynamically via the HTML5 Web Audio API, avoiding bulky media asset downloads.
- • Real-Time State Sync: Low-overhead client-server polling provides responsive state updates across mobile cellular connections and Wi-Fi alike.
Balanced Odds & Scalable Rooms
Game balance is critical in social deduction. LieBound supports 7 to 15 players per match. Role distribution algorithms dynamically scale special abilities: a single Killer operates in tables up to 9 players, while a second Killer enters above 9 players to keep odds balanced.
When assembling a group in person or online, room hosts can seamlessly insert intelligent automated bots to fill empty seats, allowing matches to proceed smoothly even if a few friends have to leave early.
Community & Contact
LieBound is continuously evolving with input from our community of deduction players. If you have role suggestions, balance feedback, or technical questions, explore our FAQ section or reach out to our team at contact@liebound.com.
